The Filly Barn, on the historic register of Nebraska, was the setting for the wedding of
Lacey Hitch and Brandon Wilkie
Sterling Hitch, and Nick Hooge (classmate of Nick Hitch) directed traffic for parking on horseback!
Brandon Wilkie, dashing groom, man of the day!
Lacey Hitch, lovely bride, lady of the day!
The barn had stables in the lower level, where the Hitch horses leant an air of authenticity to the setting.
The day was cold, in the 20's F., but the barn warmed up as we filled it with diesel heaters to chase out the cold. By wedding time, it was chilly, but bearable. (I don't think Lacey or Brandon felt the cold one bit!!!)
Lacey is escorted down the aisle by her Dad. The day every little girl dreams about!
Avery surprised everyone but Lucas with a song she wrote especially for Lacey and Brandon on their wedding day. There were no dry eyes!
The couple blended colored sand in a jar, to signify the blending of their lives and the impossibility of separating them.
The double wedding ring quilt in the background was handmade by Kathy's grandmother, and given to Kathy and Jim on their wedding day 26 years ago.
Lucas honored Lacey and Brandon by singing A Page is Turned during the ceremony.
The wedded couple shares a holy kiss!
Presenting Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Wilkie!!
Lacey and Brandon with Jim Newsom, officiating pastor. We were so honored to have Jim travel from Loiusville, Kentucky, to lend his grace and blessing to our special day.
Cousin Madison Jones shares a secret with Lacey before the wedding.
The entire wedding party (except for Bricen Wilkie)
The Wilkie family with their newest member, Lacey!
The Wilkie family with their newest member, Lacey!
We all regretted that Brandon's sister Megan and her husband, Patrick, were unable to attend the wedding.
Sisters, Avery and Havilah were beautiful attendants.
Samantha Siegmann, Havilah, Avery, Lacey, Mardel Connell, Heidi Wubbels.
Jim and Kathy, parents of the bride.
We all consider it an honor to have blended the two families that God joined through Lacey and Brandon!
The wedding party played an intense game to bless the wedding couple. It was a favorite part of the reception!
Jim's family: Mike Hitch, Judy KinKaid,
his mom, Betty Rains (Lacey's Grandma), Ben Hitch and Jim
LaVina made the wedding cake for the couple.
The sun faded and a new day began for Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Wilkie!!
